ColorFable is made by Acuity Tech Apps (“we”, “our”, or “us”). It is a drawing and coloring app for children, and we take your child’s privacy seriously.
This policy is specific on purpose: every service named below is actually in the app, and nothing is described as collected unless the app really collects it.
1.Information We Collect
Stays on your device and never leaves it
- Your child’s first name, if you type one in Settings — used only for the greeting on the Home screen
- Drawings, saved artwork and drafts
- Coins, rewards, streaks, daily challenges, unlocked stories and progress
- The parental PIN and your parental control settings
- Today’s screen time, if a daily limit is on — counted only while the app is open
- Sound, music, haptic and reduced-motion preferences
Sent off the device — none of it names your child
- Usage counts — for example that a story was opened, a coloring sheet was saved, or the Premium screen was viewed. These carry catalog ids such as story_001 and numbers such as coins earned. They never carry your child’s name, a drawing, or anything typed in the app.
- Crash reports — where in the code a crash happened, the device model, the Android and app version, and which screen was open.
- Performance measurements — how long the app takes to start and how smoothly it runs.
- Subscription records, if a parent subscribes — see section 4.
Collected automatically by Google Firebase with the reports above
- Random identifiers that Firebase creates for this installation of the app, such as its app-instance ID. They are not linked to a name, email address or account, and a reinstall starts with new ones.
- Device model, Android version, app version and language.
- An approximate location — such as country, region or city — that Google works out from the network (IP) address the reports arrive from.
We do not collect
- A real name, email address, phone number or any contact detail for your child
- Precise or GPS location — ColorFable never asks for location permission
- Photos, images or files from your device — ColorFable never opens your gallery
- Camera, microphone or voice recordings — the app asks for none of them
- Contacts, browsing history, or anything belonging to other apps
- Advertising identifiers of any kind
2.Children's Privacy
ColorFable is designed for children under 13, and is built around what that requires:
- We do not collect a child’s name, contact details, photos or precise location, and nothing we collect is used to build a profile of a child, to target anything at a child, or for any advertising purpose.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no usernames, no chat and no social features. Nothing your child makes is ever published or shared by the app.
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs. The advertising ID permission and Android’s ad-measurement permissions are removed from this app.
- Analytics runs with ad personalisation, ad user data, the advertising ID and the Android device ID all switched off.
- Drawings are saved in the app’s private storage on the device.
If you believe we have collected personal information from a child that we should not have, email support@acuitytechapps.com and we will delete it.
3.How We Use Information
We use what we collect only to:
- keep the app working, and fix crashes and slow screens (Firebase Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring);
- see which stories and features children enjoy, from usage counts (Firebase Analytics);
- process and restore subscription purchases (Google Play Billing and RevenueCat);
- answer support requests you send us; and
- meet legal obligations.
We never sell data. We never share it for marketing or advertising. No ad network receives anything from this app.
4.Subscriptions and Billing
ColorFable offers one optional subscription, ColorFable Premium, with a monthly and a yearly plan:
- Free: the first Magic & Enchanted Worlds story, free drawing, and the free brushes and colors. The other Magic & Enchanted Worlds stories, and the pattern, glitter, paper and special-brush packs, can be unlocked with coins earned by coloring. Coins cannot be bought.
- Premium: every story category, and all Premium brushes, colors, patterns, glitter and papers.
Prices, billing periods and any free-trial offer are set by Google Play and shown in your own currency on the Premium screen and at checkout. They are not listed here, so that this page can never disagree with what you are charged. Every purchase is started by an adult: the Premium screen is behind the parental gate.
All billing is processed by Google Play. We do not store or have access to your payment information. Subscription status is checked through RevenueCat, which receives:
- the Google Play purchase records — product and plan identifiers, purchase tokens and order identifiers, purchase, renewal and expiry dates, and subscription status;
- a random, anonymous App User ID that RevenueCat creates for this installation;
- technical details sent with each request — the device platform, make and model, the Android and app version, the language and locale, and the Google Play store country; and
- the network (IP) address, from which it can work out an approximate location such as country.
RevenueCat never receives a name, email address or payment details, and it keeps purchase history rather than processing it only briefly. After a purchase, RevenueCat also saves this anonymous App User ID in Google’s Block Store, and Google may back it up to the Google account on the device, so that the subscription is recognised after a reinstall or on a new device. The saved ID is a random code that points only to the subscription record. It is not a ColorFable account or a profile of your child, and it contains no name, age, drawing or usage information.
A subscription renews automatically until it is cancelled. To cancel: Google Play Store › Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › ColorFable › Cancel. Premium normally stays active until the end of the period already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
For refund requests, contact Google Play support or reach us at support@acuitytechapps.com.
5.Data Storage
- Drawings, drafts, progress and settings are stored in ColorFable’s private storage on your device.
- We do not upload drawings anywhere. There is no ColorFable account and no cloud.
- Android’s cloud backup is switched off for this app, so none of this data is copied to Google Drive. On newer Android versions, a direct device-to-device transfer while setting up a new phone or tablet may still copy it, depending on the device.
- Uninstalling the app permanently removes everything it stored on the device. The one exception is RevenueCat’s anonymous App User ID in Google’s Block Store, described in section 4, which exists only after a purchase.
- The reports and subscription records described in sections 1 and 4 are held by Google and RevenueCat on our behalf, for the retention periods set in their services. Both may process them in the United States and other countries outside your own.
6.Third-Party Services
These are the only services this app talks to, and what each one receives:
- Google Play Billing — subscription purchases and renewals. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Play Asset Delivery — downloads the coloring artwork for a story category when it is opened. Google Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — verifies and restores subscriptions, using the purchase records, anonymous App User ID and technical details described in section 4. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Google Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports, so we can fix what breaks.
- Google Firebase Performance Monitoring — how quickly the app starts and responds. Its automatic tracing of network requests is switched off in this app.
- Google Firebase Analytics — the usage counts described in section 1. Firebase privacy information
This app contains no advertising SDKs, no social SDKs and no push notifications, and nothing in it tracks your child across other apps or websites.
If you email us, your message is handled by our email provider, Spacemail, and used only to answer you. Please do not send your child’s personal details, or artwork that contains personal information, unless it is needed to resolve your request. Support emails are deleted once the request is resolved and no longer needed, and in any case no later than 24 months after the last message.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect rights, safety and security, or as part of a lawful business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We never make children’s drawings public.
7.Parental Controls
ColorFable includes built-in parental controls:
- A parental gate in front of the Premium screen and anything that costs money: a grown-up enters the 4-digit Parent PIN, or creates one the first time
- PIN Lock: while it is on, Parent Settings opens only after the Parent PIN is entered
- A daily screen-time limit: once the day’s time is used up, ColorFable shows a “Time’s up” screen until the next day. After entering the Parent PIN, a grown-up can add time, lift the limit for the rest of the day, or turn it off. Turning the limit on needs PIN Lock, and turning PIN Lock off also turns the limit off
- Sound, music, haptic and reduced-motion settings
These controls work inside ColorFable on the device where they are set. They support, but do not replace, a grown-up’s supervision.
Parents can remove all app data on the device by uninstalling the app.
8.Data Security
- App data is kept in ColorFable’s private storage, which Android keeps separate from other apps.
- Your child’s name, drawings and settings are never transmitted. What leaves the device is limited to the reports in section 1 and the subscription checks in section 4.
- The parental PIN is stored on your device only and is never sent anywhere.
- Everything the app does send travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
9.Your Rights
- Your child’s name, drawings, progress and settings: view or change them in the app, or remove them entirely by uninstalling it.
- Usage counts, crash reports and performance measurements: these are tied only to Firebase’s random identifiers for this installation — not to a name, email address or account — and the app does not show those identifiers, so we cannot tell which child or family a report came from. Uninstalling the app stops any further reports, and a reinstall starts with new identifiers.
- Subscription records: we can find them from the Google Play order number on the purchase receipt (it begins with “GPA.”) and delete what we control on request. Google and RevenueCat may keep records they are legally required to hold, and deleting does not cancel a subscription.
- Your subscription: cancel at any time in Google Play (section 4).
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to correct information, to restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Parents and guardians may exercise these rights on behalf of their children.
Questions or requests, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA: email support@acuitytechapps.com. We answer privacy requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner. To ask us to delete data, see acuitytechapps.com/colorfable/delete-data.
10.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we change the “Last updated” date on this page, and the current version is always available in the app under Settings › Privacy Policy and at acuitytechapps.com/colorfable/privacy. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
